Description

Make Cheese and Herb Parathas with a crispy golden crust and a cheesy, flavorful filling. A perfect breakfast or snack for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Dough:
    • 2 cups whole wheat flour
    • ½ tsp salt
    • ¾ cup warm water (adjust as needed)
    • 1 tbsp oil or melted butter
  • Cheese & Herb Filling:
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
    • ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese (optional)
    • 2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
    • 2 tbsp finely chopped parsley
    • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
    • ½ tsp black pepper
    • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Cooking:
    • 2 tbsp butter or oil for cooking

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and knead into a soft dough. Let rest for 20 minutes.

2. In another bowl, mix shredded cheese, feta, cilantro, parsley, green chili, black pepper, and chili flakes.

3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a ball.

4. Roll out one ball into a small circle, place 2 tbsp of filling in the center, and fold the edges over to seal.

5. Roll out gently into a thin disc.

6. Heat a skillet and cook each paratha for 1–2 minutes per side, brushing with butter or oil, until golden brown and crispy.

7. Serve hot with yogurt, pickles, or chutney.

Notes

– Use a mix of cheeses for extra richness.

– Roll gently to prevent the filling from spilling out.

– Store uncooked parathas in the fridge and cook fresh when needed.
